Yargh!

Quick experiment done in TVPaint! Geez, if I only had access to fast computers and TVPaint back in the early 90′s, things would have been SOOOOOoooo much easier, when I did these little films for Sesame Street. http://www.cartoonmonkey.com/newintro.html (click the green arrow on the “monkeymenu”, then the name of a film to play)

I’d almost like to re-do these films.. but noes! Onward!

  • Thank you man!
I love TVPaint, and I’ve used it since it was first programmed, on the Amiga!
I actually did a bunch of tutorial videos for those guys, and did a bit of art for the new V9.0 Splash screen, along with several other beta testers.

I can only describe it as a mix between photoshop and after effects. All bitmap. You can import / export video, all with multiple layers, multiple sound tracks, and great paint / animation tools, so that you can directly manipulate every frame. All this and real time audio scrubbing / playback!
It kicks After Effect’s butt in so many ways..

The interface is a tiny bit unwieldy, but you can customize it to make it as simple or complex as you like.

Those videos are on this link, down toward the bottom of the page:
