A typical day..

..Inside TVPaint.

I spend a lot of time in TVPaint these days. Trying to get away from the flash vector look. My latest project involves scanned in ink drawings on paper! Yes paper! ( I do the rough animation first in TVPaint )

Right now I’m experimenting with projecting my roughs down onto my paper using a tripod. The project I’m using is the Optoma 201 pocket projector. It’s tiny. About the size of a cel phone. Goes for $300. Not sure if it’s overkill at this point. My previous method was printing out every frame in draft mode, then inking on the back using a light table.. which might actually work out better. You see, you have to hold the pen a certain way with the projector, so that you can still see the projection on the paper. My hand’s always getting in the way… so this method might take more time than printing.

Phew.. More later..!
