Any rich animation fans want to send a me a free tablet pc?
Perhaps not a good idea to always ride around on your bicycle with your Tablet PC in a backpack..
Tonight, I cracked the LCD of my beloved Motion Computing M1300.. Probably more expensive to repair, than to buy a new machine at this point.. ARGH..!!
(the image above was painted on my regular wacom tablet, by the way..)
Update: -I'm a DIY kinda guy..
Holy schmoly! I can fix it myself! I just found a site that sells exact part I need. (The lcd/digitizer.)M
y machine is way beyond warranty.. And it looks like I can get a new cheap faceplate too!
Huzzah!

In the next few days, I'll be posting up a new flash animation-helper tool I invented, called "Symbol-Surfer". ..
(I imagine I'm only speaking to flash animation nerds at this point..) -The program is for pc only, as it's been created with AutoHotkey..
Read on...
The skinny:
After doing a bunch of symbol-based animation in Flash, -there are certain things that get a bit .. repetative. I was working away, and I thought to myself..
Wouldn't it be neat, if I just selected a symbol (that contained other images inside it. -In this case, mouth shapes) -and then rolled my mouse wheel to scroll through all the different shapes?
It'd again reduce my having to click the symbol, -find the little properties input box, and enter the frame number I wanted to display, -then hitting the return key. Very tedious.
AutoHotkey to the rescue again! I asked, poked around a bit, and someone there helped me come up with a solution. Amazing! (-Thanks autohotkey forum guys..)
My beta hotkey program: the "Symbol-Surfer". -This script detects when flash is running, and then turns itself on. The mousewheel then becomes an easy way to enter numeric values for lip-synch, and symbol selection within multi-framed symbols, providing you set things up that way to begin with.
Also, the program only works if you're working in 1024x768 resolution at the moment, with the property tab open at the bottom of the screen, all the time.
I could make versions for higher / lower resolutions if there turns out to be enough interest..
Stay tuned.. I'll be posting the beta version, along with some tutorial videos in the next few days.

Head on over to Robin Ator's glowinthedarkpictures.com right now!
And don't forget to order one of his mind blowing sketchbooks.
The design of the website itself is just amazing as well...

-Some animation I'm doing for .. a good cause. (For a change)
I'll post a link to the final one minute long piece, when it's released to the general public...
